Ben and Me

Ben and Me was an independent reader this year. It was a really enjoyable way to learn about Ben Franklin.

The Sign of the Beaver

This book was also an independent reader. My son enjoyed this one a lot.

Tirzah

We read Tirzah aloud this year. I even loved this one. It was the story of the Exodus from a young girl’s perspective.

Fountain of life

Fountain of Life was so good! My kids asked if there was a sequel. So, I tooked, and to my surprise, there is!! It’s called Living Tabernacle. Needless to say, it is on my shelf now, and we can’t wait to read it.

The Boxcar Children

I’d say this was both of my 4th graders’ favorite! This was the first independent read this year. They loved it so much that they wanted to watch the movie on Netflix. I think they ended up watching that movie a dozen times!😂

Grandpa’s Box

This was another really good read aloud. It’s a “retelling of biblical redemption.”

Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes

We are in the middle of this book as a read-aloud. It is a super fun adventurous book!

Rush Revere Series

I can’t say enough about these. My first one was a gift from my dad to the kids.I wrote a review on this series. You can read it here.

Wilbur and Orville Wright: Young Fliers (Childhood of Famous Americans)

Another great independent History reader.

Sassafras Science Adventures Volume 1: Zoology

We used Sassafras Adventures Zoology for Science this year. My kids adored this book. We used it as a read-aloud, but it could easily be read independently by upper elementary. Read my review here.
