2nd-grade Curriculum Choices for the 2018-2019 School Year
What are my 2nd-grade curriculum choices for the 2018-2019 school year? This is a little late… I know! School has already started for most of you, and we have been in school since June! I already posted what we are using for my 5th graders for the 2018-2019 school year, but I was waiting a little bit to post my 2nd grader’s curriculum choices.
Why? Because we have had to make a few changes since the beginning of the year. So, now that we are in a good groove with our choices, here are my 2nd-grade curriculum choices!

Math
For our Math curriculum, we decided to stick with Easy Peasy! We used Easy Peasy Math 1 offline last year, and this year we are using Math 2 online. We have really liked the online version because it gives him a lot of much-needed practice on his math facts!
You can look at the offline version here: Math 2 Offline

Reading/ Language Arts
Reading has been a big struggle for my son for the last couple of years. So, we are taking it one step at a time! We are using The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts Level 1. We are also using a little bit of Poetry Phonics by A Gentle Feast, and reading out of the Frog and Toad Collection.

Art
For Art, we are using Drawing and Painting on Easy Peasy Online Homeschool. We love it! (It’s FREE, too!)
Science
Science was included in our Gentle Feast curriculum. However, we are currently struggling with a few of the Natural History book choices. So, we are using some field guides, and YouTube videos for Science.
Handwriting
We are also using The Good and The Beautiful Handwriting Level 2. So far, so good. There are little drawing and coloring activities after each handwriting worksheet which make it fun for my son. The lessons are also short and to the point.
History, Poetry, Bible, and Other Charlotte Mason Studies
We are using A Gentle Feast for all of our other studies! We love the gentle approach that it takes to each subject. Her book choices for Form 1 (1st-3rd grade) are excellent! We are having to take it a little slower than scheduled, but that is the beauty of the program! You can make it your own!
That was one of the reasons that I chose to go with A Gentle Feast this year. I was looking for something that I could customize and tweak here and there if I needed to. Julie has some excellent videos on scheduling AGF and making it your own.
