The Action Bible
If you have a child who loves comics, this is the Bible for them! It presents the Bible in the form of a comic book with awesome graphics. It highlights important Bible stories throughout. (It doesn’t follow your typical verse by verse format.)
I don’t think this Bible would be good for someone who wants a verse by verse format to follow along with for church, but it’s a great way to capture the interest of a reluctant preteen!

The Beautiful Word Bible for Girls is a gorgeous bible for preteens. It has full color illustrations as well as plenty of space for their own artwork & notetaking.
Kids Study Bible: King James Version
Some parents prefer to use King James Version from the very beginning. We’re those people. Our church uses the KJV Bible soley, so I like our kids to follow along & memorize verses from the same version.
This Bible has maps, illustrations, charts, a dictionary, and a ton of other great study helps.
The Bare Bones Bible® Handbook for Teens: Getting to Know Every Book in the Bible
This one is not a Bible per say, but it’s a handbook that helps teens and even preteens understand each book of the Bible. Inside there’s a breakdown of each book & a Bible reading plan.
I had to throw this one in the mix because I think it’s very important for your child to not just read the Bible, but to understand it.
Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for Teen Girls
This one is another version of the Beautiful Word Bible I mentioned above. However, this version has more blank Bible scripture coloring sheets within & plenty of notetaking/journaling space throughout.
Holy Bible for Girls, Journal Edition
I am on a journal Bible kick right now. I love to have space to write down my thoughts while I’m reading the word. That’s also a great way for all kids, preteens, and teens to study the word of God.
This journal Bible for preteens has a good sized font and plenty of space to take notes & doodle.
Tyndale NLT Boys & Girls Life Application Study Bible
This Bible is recommended for ages 10-14. It’s filled with character-building devotions and has an interactive journaling section. They have a hardcover option & a softback option.
